FORUM FOR SHARING BEST PRACTICES OF CSO’S AND LA’S COOPERATION

ADDRESSING LOCAL CHALLENGES JOINTLY

Media representatives are invited to join the Forum for sharing best practices of CSOs and LAs cooperation of the project ‘’Strengthening local participation and cooperation through partnership of Public Authorities and CSOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina – LINK 4 Cooperation’’ funded by the European Union, which will take place

in Conference Hall of the Cultural Center, Zavidovići,

March 17, 2022 starting at 10:30 am

The aim of the Forum is to assess the success of cooperation between local governments and civil society organizations in 12 cities and municipalities covered by the project, as well as the exchange of good practices of cooperation between the two sectors. The information gathered at this event will detect the main challenges and will serve as a basis for further development of civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The press conference will be held before the start of the Forum, in the lobby of the Cultural Center Zavidovići, starting at 10:00 am

The Forum will be attended by mayors, as well as representatives of CSOs from 12 cities and municipalities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as senior officials, representatives of the international community and donors. The Forum is hosted by the Municipality of Zavidovići and the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) Mostar, as the projects lead partner.

The central event of the Forum is the launch of the ELoGE program of the Council of Europe in BiH which will be implemented in 12 cities and municipalities (Berkovići, Jablanica, Kostajnica, Maglaj, Mostar, Nevesinje, Novi Grad, Prijedor, Ravno, Trebinje, Zavidovići and Žepče). EloGE program aims at self-assessment of local governments based on 12 principles of good democratic governance.

“LINK 4 Cooperation” project aims to strengthen the capacity of local authorities and civil society organizations in conducting participatory processes in order to jointly identify specific problems of communities and, thanks to a participatory approach, find the best solutions.

Implementation began on January 1, 2021 and will last until December 31, 2023. Its value is over 540,000 EUR, of which the European Union provided over 490,000 EUR in grants.

The project consortium consists of the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) Mostar, the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) Zavidovici, the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) Prijedor, the Center for the Development of Herzegovina (CRH), the European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA), and associate partner ALDA Skopje.
